Libraries become day care centers – 02/24/05

Okay, we’ve all heard of stories like this, but I enjoyed reading this article because it also talked about how libraries are working with the community to make things better. The schools are helping to supervise on occasion. The area PTA is trying to reach out to parents and let them know dropping unsupervised kids at the library isn’t always a great idea. The library staff has had additional training and the library has revised their code of conduct on acceptable behaviour. The library has also changed things in their teen designated area. So, it sounds like the Southfield Public library has found a way to deal with the problem they had.
