I found this via, umm, one of those blogs on my list. I was considering adding Charlotte Brontë onto my reading list shortly, after I’m done with Thomas Hardy, so this was interesting. It is interesting to see the different perceptions of people and it reminds us that even biographies, a tool that so many students and scholars use, can be biased or inaccurate.
Now as to whether Charlotte was really a “filthy, frustrated, sex-obsessed genius”, I have no idea, but I could envisage that. After all, aren’t we all secretly sex-obsessed? Or maybe just filthy?
