OLA in-between

It’s the interactions in-between (and after) the sessions that I get a lot out of – sometimes more than the sessions themselves. I actually skipped both plenaries today and one session – only attended the two I blogged.

So I’ve come across a crazy number of people I know! I forgot how well connected I am 😉 So I’ve seen a half dozen or more of my former classmates, another half dozen of FIMS students that I knew but never had classes with (including the one that went to my highschool and this year will be 10 years since grad and she mentioned something about an informal reunion). I saw one former prof from UWO, my former supervisor who’s now at UWaterloo and a bunch of librarians from Windsor. Oh, and I also met one young woman who is a student at FIS; we “met” online 2 years ago but have always crossed paths so have never been able to meet each other until now!
My work had a wine and cheese event that I attended for a bit and met a couple great people including Allison of Convergent Library Technologies. She used to work for LSC too!
After wine and cheese I went to dinner with a few UWindsor librarians as well as one from OCAD and one from UWaterloo. Great fun! We had Greek food – the spinach pie was delicious.
