Social media for social good

Tonight is Montreal’s Twestival Local bringing together Twitter users from a wide background as well as their friends and others interested in supporting charity. Head & Hands is the official charity for  Twestival that’s happening tonight at Le Social on Bishop street (right across from Concordia’s Library Building!).

There’s going to be a lot of fun going on tonight! In addition to the usual mingling, drinking and the raffling of prizes, we are going to have Rock Band game area set up with some local musicians here to challenge you. Similar to February’s global Twestival there’s also going to be a photo booth. Take a look at my pic from then when I met some awesome Twitter women.

Twestival Montreal has been featured in the press including  The Hour and The Gazette. As one of the organizers likes to say, this is taking social media and using it for the social good. What better way to raise some funds for a worthy cause?

I know it’s going to be a blast tonight but don’t take my word – come out and see for yourself! For those of you not in Montreal, there are hundreds of other cities across the world having their own Twestival between today and Sunday, so check out http://twestival.com/ to find a location near you.
